LENORE ALEXANDRA PRATT was born in Toronto, the daughter of James Alexander Tucker, one of the leaders of the student rebellion at the University of Toronto in 1895. She moved at the age of thirteen to Ottawa, where she remained until going to Newfoundland. Mrs. Pratt has written poetry since early childhood and her work has appeared in many periodicals in Canada, such as Saturday Night, Canadian Poetry, The Ottawa Journal, The Montreal Star, and Chatelaine. She was the mother of four children, but managed to find time for reading, music and needlework.
